This course will teach you how to design and install low-voltage lighting that’s safe, efficient, and beautiful. You’ll learn to plan clean power runs, place fixtures with intention, and fine-tune nighttime effects so every property looks great and functions flawlessly after dark.

You’ll learn how to:

• Understand low-voltage systems (transformers, wire gauges, connectors, LEDs) and prevent voltage drop
• Plan lighting layouts that balance safety, accents, and ambiance without glare
• Follow electrical safety and code basics, including GFCI use and burial depths
• Install and label transformers, timers, photocells, and smart controls for reliable automation
• Route, bury, and splice wire with weatherproof connections and proper load balancing
• Install well, path, wall/step, and spotlight fixtures with professional spacing and aiming
• Wash or graze walls to reveal texture, and adjust beam spreads for trees and architecture
• Test circuits with a multimeter, calibrate voltage at the furthest fixture, and document results
• Restore sites cleanly, educate clients on simple maintenance, and set up seasonal checkups

By the end of this course, you’ll deliver lighting that looks intentional and runs reliably with clean installs, balanced power, and night-ready results clients notice immediately.
